Princeton University

Princeton University is a private Ivy League research college in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. Established in 1746 in Elizabeth as the College of New Jersey, Princeton was the fourth sanctioned organization of higher education in the Thirteen Colonies and along these lines one of the nine Colonial Colleges built up before the American Revolution.

Princeton gives undergrad and graduate guideline in the humanities, sociologies, sciences, and engineering. It also offers professional online degrees.
The University has graduated numerous Nobel laureates and many known personalities for example two U.S. Presidents.

There is many reasons to choose this school, one of which being this uni is quite affortable for its quality. Princeton is a great school but what really make it special in comparison to other colleges is their great financial aid package.
Every building has such amazing character. Even the newer building are stylized. Those buildings are found a short walk away from the main part of campus. The carvings, and attention to detail on the older buildings is amazing. It's sad that that kind of artistry is only rarely applied in this day and age. All of the carved animals, people, and shapes are beautiful.

The professors are definitely experts in their field. They are enthusiastic about what they teach and give honest feedback. Grading at Princeton is notoriously "strict" when compared to other Ivies but that's just what comes with attending this school. It can be pretty stressful at times but student organizations seem to be making an effort to make it more manageable. There are several classes one can take and although Princeton doesn't offer majors in things like Theater or African American Studies, one can get certificates in these fields. Many people study in Firestone or the work spaces of their individual res colleges.

However, there are things that Princeton should work on: like economic diversity (or at the least, addressing it) and spiffing up cultural understanding amongs the student body. Also the social life or greek life is almost non existent there.

Overall it is pretty good uni, it has some drawbacks but these are not that important.

Pros
Great online criminal justice degree, it is not as expensive as other top universities, professors are great at teaching and very helpful.
Cons
Poor social life, low economic diversity, only few online courses to choose from.

Students' learning includes lectures and laboratory sessions and supervisions organised by departments and colleges. The university has eight arts, cultural, and scientific museums. Its libraries contains over 15 million books.
There are diverse subjects which are wide ranging not too wishy washy. Quite difficult but fulfilling; and suits your needs. Facilities wise things are slow bureaucratically, but otherwise great. The students union here are sometimes too militant but they are good at what they do,. you can even join the Japanese and international development society here at the university. However the accommodation is not so great, and looking for a job will be hard, but you will have to look around.

This college has great people and an interesting course - it's a lovely place to study. The courses are interesting. The libraries are great here, the music societies are hundergraduatee with lots of opportunities.

Pros
Excellent lecturers and course structure, good support services, top teaching quality. Having degree from this university means you can find job everywhere u want.

Cons
Accomodation expensive and not so great, its very difficult to get in.

York University

York University is a public research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is 3rd biggest university in Canada. Has over 55,000 students, eleven faculties and 28 research centres.
This University partakes in the Canadian Space Program and the only Space engineering program in Canada. The Faculty of Science and Lassonde School of Engineering are Canada's primary research facilities focusing on Martian exploration, and have created several space research instruments used by NASA. York has spearheaded a few PhD programs in Canada, and its psychology program is the largest in North America.

It's a lovely university with lovely people and it's also campus so there is a sense of community, but unfortunately it's not too far from the city which is a treasure because of its historical buildings, and the fact that everything is available there, the tea rooms and cafes, the pubs and bars.
Also, the facilities are not that good, housing at this university is hard to get in to if you are not a first year student, but once you get in and get to know the people its all good.

Quite a few professors also show zero passion for teaching. They will present 3 hour lectures with no more than a typewritten paragraph of text on the overhead projector. They will leave in the middle of student presentations, and have TA's mark instead.

Pros
Good economic education programs, friendly students, collaboration with NASA.

Cons
Boring lectures, lack of security, poor teaching quality, situated on the edge of Toronto, some professors cant speak english.

The University of Alabama is a wonderful place. You will love living on campus and being apart of everything going on.
Living on campus is incredibly expensive, but the suite-style rooms are very nice and the security is wonderful. The best dorms to live in are the Ridgecrest ones or the Presidential ones, and the ones to avoid are Somerville, Tutwiler, and Paty.

Athletics at Alabama are amazing. If you love sports, you will have great time because there's always something going on! Football at Alabama is the best in the county, and in the spring there's gymnastics which is really fun, too! If you like being active, the rec centers are awesome and there are tons of club sports!

Pros
Biggest football school in the country, there are so many good restaurants in Tuscaloosa, professors are always ready to help, the university really cares about its students and it is apparent.

Cons
Living on campus is incredibly expensive,

It is world-renowned research university, known for its unique breadth in a wide variety of areas. The University's scholarly facilities are sorted out into seven schools, with a several different holdings, for example research center and nature reserves, situated outside the fundamental campus. The University is probably the best fundraising institution in the country raising as much as 1 billion dollars in a year.

Students contend in 36 different sports, and the University is one of two private colleges in the Division I FBS Pacific-12 Conference. It has won alot of awards and championship thropies.

The campus is one of the largest universities out there. It stretches for miles, and it will take the whole day and maybe even more if you want to explore all that the campus has to offer.
If you decide to ever visit Stanford, there are a number of sights and things to do. The first thing you should do is going along palm drive, and taking some pictures around the center of campus by the church and main quad. There are guided tours that take you around to the different sections of campus.

Undergraduates are guaranteed housing for at least 3 years and there are many different housing options. The draw isn't very easy, but there are so many different options that are all fairly good options. They also do a good job about pairing roommates for freshman year.

Pros
Great housing options, majestic and beautiful building, alot of different courses and sports, it is not very difficult to get a degree.

Cons
Medium education level, you can easily get lost there, quite expensive.

The University of Texas

The University of Texas at Austin is an public research institution. Founded in 1883 and its grounds is situated in Austin — more or less 1 mile from the Texas State Capitol. The university has the fifth-biggest single-campus enlistment in Texas, with more than 50,000 undergrad and graduate students and more than 24,000 staff members.
This university offers a number of student services including nonremedial tutoring, women's center, placement service, day care, health service, and health insurance.

The college houses seven historical centers and seventeen libraries, including the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum and the Blanton Museum of Art, and manages few different research facilities, for example the McDonald Observatory. Among college professors there are beneficiaries of the Nobel Prize, Pulitzer Prize, the Wolf Prize, and the National Medal of Science, and numerous different awards.

Building looks fantastic inside and outside, especially libraries.
The registration system makes it difficult to get into classes so you can graduate on time. There are few resources on campus outside of the classroom to learn so you're going to be teaching most of the material to yourself. Some classes are super competitive which makes students rude and uncooperative with each other.
There is always something to do, either on campus around the great city of Austin. Granted the classes are very difficult, but they are also very rewarding. Professors are nice and friendly, they all want to see the students succeed, so it creates a great learning environment.

Pros
Friendly and qualified professors, high education level, this college has in offer many useful student services.

Cons
Inconvenient registration system, unfair grades - when you get along with lecturers you can get better marks,

Sapienza University of Rome

The Sapienza University of Rome, formally Sapienza – Università di Roma is the biggest European college by enlistments (the third if considering the learning schools in different areas/places) and one of the most seasoned university in the history, established in 1303.

Sapienza University of Rome is a standout amongst the most trustworthy European Universities and the most prestigious Italian University.
According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Arwu), Sapienza is routinely positioned first among Southern European colleges. It is also considered as one of the top ten best Universities in Europe, and first in Southern Europe.

La Sapienza taught various notable personalities, including numerous Nobel laureates, presidents of the European Parliament, leaders of a few countries and important researchers and even astronauts.

Living in Rome is very expensive and it is hard to find a nice room/appartment for less then 500 EUR. Food in the other hand, is quite affordable. However, Rome is such an beautiful and great city to live in, and studying there is really good opportunity to be a part of this society and fully enjoy the beauty of Rome.

In this uni, students are always helpful and friendly. You can meet alot of new friends and you will become more open minded, interested in the world, and it will give you courage and self confidence.
However, the education in this university is a big chaos and teachers don't really care if you go to classes or not, you have to do almost everything yourself. Introduct yourself, discuss about the exams proceedings etc. which is a big let down.

Pros

The best university in Italy, it offers some of the best graduate degrees for job, helpful and friendly students.

Cons
Very expensive living costs - especially the cost of appartments or rooms, you are on your own when it comes to education and learning, dont expect much help from professors.

Arizona State University

Arizona State University is a public institution founded in 1885. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of over 38,000, its setting is urban, and the campus is large. It utilizes a semester based academic calendar. Arizona State University currently ranks in the best colleges as a 129th. Its in state tuition and fees are $9,514; out-of-state tuition and fees are $24,220.

Arizona State University, which has one of the largest undergraduate populations in the nation, offers students a wide range of academic options. Collectively, the campuses in Tempe and three other locations in the Phoenix area offer students over 300 undergraduate academic programs to pick from and over 500 clubs and organizations to check out.

If you live in state, there are so many opportunities for scholarships, it's basically a free ride if you can get into one of them. After that, it's like any other university - have to shift through the good and bad professors through word of mouth. Education degrees are however worth more then they should.
ASU is kind of known as the party school, but the business school is pretty strong here. Given the price you're paying as a resident, ASU is not a bad choice for furthering your education.

Pros

Cool looking inside and outside, alot of parties and social live.

Cons
Very high costs, they can sue you to pay even more for no reason, low quality education, cost of housing is extremely high, professors are very unlikeable.

The University of Milan is an higher education institution in Milan, Italy. It is a standout amongst the most important and biggest colleges in Europe, with more then 60 thousands students, a changeless showing and research staff of around 2 thousands.
The University of Milan has 9 facilities and offers 134 undergrad and graduate courses, 21 Doctoral Schools and 92 Specialization Schools. The University's teaching activities have grown through the years and have gotten imperative worldwide recognitions. The University is the main Italian individual from the League of LERU, a group of 22 research-intensive European Universities. It is additionally the best college in Italy in a most rankings.

Milan is a great city, with great people and a lot of things to do. Howeverm Milan is one of the most expensive european cities. The student residence and services are good. The public transports are a great option to travel around the city because of its low prices.

Good advice for future students is to take this university seriously from the very beginning because this is the best way to succeed in a difficult field such as physics and in a challenging (and tough) environment such as that of University of Milan.

Pros
One of the best universities in italy, good worldwide recognitions, it is the only italian university that belongs to LERU group.

Cons
Very expensive city, challenging and difficult exams, you need to learn some basics of italian language.

University of Economics in Katowice was established in 1937 and is the biggest and most seasoned business education institution in the area, one of the top universities in Poland. There is over 13 thousands Polish and global understudies every year that take after degree programs at the Bachelor, Master, Doctoral and Post-diploma levels at four different facilities: Economics, Finance and Insurance, Informatics and Communication & Management.

Students and graduates develop in a flourishing city participate in the advancement of the region throughout their professional lives like sorting out economics life, joining in an extensive variety of business activities ect.

The educational offer and deep rooted learning projects draw in students from everywhere throughout the world. Because of the harmony between scholarly quality and soft skills in these courses as well as professional career services. The employability of graduates is rather high.

The University of Economics in Katowice is a fantastically organized school of economics, and the Erasmus program is highly developed with lots of international students. They have a large number of events for international students and pay attention to the finer details of integrating international students into everyday local life. I was pleasantly surprised while studying there.

Pros
Its very easy to pass exams as most teachers just give the same set of tests over and over in each of your resits, good quality erasmus programs and other events.

Cons
Very low teaching level, you can do nothing whole semester not even participate in lectures (which are very boring) and still pass with A mark.

University of Amsterdam

The University of Amsterdam
is a state funded college situated in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Founded in 1632 by municipal authorities and later renamed for the city of Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam is one of the most seasoned college in the Netherlands and one of the biggest examination colleges in Europe with over 30 thousands students. It is also the largest university in the Netherlands. The main campus is situated in the middle of Amsterdam, with a couple of buildings situated in nearby boroughs. The college is sorted out into seven resources: Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Dentistry, Economics and Business, Law, Medicine, and Science.

The housing at the UvA is in particular arranged for Master students. Most of them get a quite nice (and expensive) room. But there also are less nice and equally expensive accomodations, but in the end, the quality of the housing depends on the people you live with.
There is a lot of activities to do: parties for international students in the university, parties in private house, cruises on the canals, museums discounts, nice famous brown cafès and much more. The people there are fantastic - friendly and open minded.

Pros
Relaxed work atmosphere, lots of benefits (considered an civil servant position), possible to work with lots of different people, opportunities to grow within the University if not possible in your department.

Cons
Every change takes a lot of time, bureaucracy, when standards are implemented, the out-of-the-box people/dept/scenarios not usually considered.

The University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh established in 1582, is the 6th most seasoned college in United Kingdom and one of Scotland's oldest colleges. The university is profoundly implanted in the fabric of the city, with a hefty portion of the structures in the memorable Old Town belonging to the university.
The college played a critical part in driving Edinburgh to its reputation as a chef intelectual centre at the Age of Enlightenment, and helped give the city the name of the Athens of the North.

Edinburgh gets more or less 47k applications consistently, making it the third most well known college in the UK by volume of applicants. However Edinburgh University remains to be one of the hardest universities to get into in the country and as such will always be respected by employers as long as this fact remains true. The university has a wide range of courses from medicine, veterinary science, engineering to all the traditional arts degrees.

A key issue of complaint about the university is that there seems to be a lack of support from university staff. This can be a good thing, as it means you need to get some initiative and work things out for yourself, but it can be detrimental if you feel a bit clueless. What's really important is that the university gives you a well rounded education.
The university has many great facilities, but what makes it such a great university is the city and the many thousands of students.

Pros
High education level and prestige, wide range of courses, alot of students and different people to meet, top university not just in Scotland but in whole UK.

Cons
Lack of support from university staff, very difficult to get your application accepted, it has some very ugly buildings.

Ecole normale superieure

The Ecole normale supérieure is an number one college in France as well as in Europe overall. The ENS has held this prevalent position for quite a long time running and is broadly thought to be the most particular and most difficult establishment of higher learning and research in France. Established in 1794, the ENS has long been a national legend. Unrivaled in preparing driving French savvy people in all fields the ENS checks amongst its graduated class such figures as Henri Bergson, Jean-Paul Sartre, Michel Foucault, Louis Pasteur, Paul Langevin and Laurent Schwartz. In math all French Fields Medals are held by ENS graduated class, just like every one of the 12 French Nobel prizes over all orders. Since 1945, the ENS has gathered 50% of the National Research (CNRS) Gold Medals, France's highest examination grant. Nearly every field of knowledge and research is represented at the ENS. It numbers over 2500 students.

Most research focuses and offices, even understudy quarters, are arranged in the chronicled structures of the mourn d'Ulm, situated in the heart of Paris' understudy Latin Quarter. Unlike the other French colleges, the ENS prides itself on encouraging a genuine group of understudies and a rich grounds life. Scholarly and social occasions proliferate, from gatherings, movies, shows and level headed discussions, to athletic and social occasions.

The ENS covers a wide range of academic disciplines in both the humanities and sciences. It has six humanities departments (Philosophy, Classics, History, Literature and Languages, Social Geography, Sciences) and six science departments (Mathematics, Computing, Chemistry, Biochemy, Biology, Land-Atmosphere-Ocean). In each of these departments, the activities of teaching and research are closely interlinked. The initial task of the Ecole, to form the teachers and professors of the future, remains its fundamental vocation; but this has significantly widened in recent times, and pupils now go on to a wide range of future careers.

Pros
Vast spectrum of academic disciplines, number 1 university in France, it holds alot of famous scientists, it is situated in beautiful city of Paris.

Cons
You need to know basics of french, humanities lectures can be really boring.

University of Sydney

The University of Sydney is an Australian state funded college in Sydney. Established in 1850, it is Australia's first college and is viewed as one of its most prestigious, positioned as the world's 27th best university. Seven Nobel or Crafoord laureates have been partnered with the college as graduates and faculty. The University includes 16 facilities and schools, through which it offers, master's, bachelor's and doctoral degrees.
The University has about 35000 local students. Additionally, there are about 3500 international students every semester. The administration really cares about you and you come to know to many people from all parts of this world - not only at university, but also in town. It's a multi-culti population.

The course is on average 20 hours a week. You'll usually get at least one full day off, but a lot of the work is off campus work (readings, assignments etc). The Education side of the course is constantly changing. The lecturers/tutors in both faculties are excellent, and knowledgable in their area. Support is great if you seek it. Definately value for money, especially if you are doing history courses, they are top notch.

Campus life at Sydney is fantastic if you get involved. Heaps of places to socialise and eat in campus, and it's close to Broadway and Newtown. Libraries are excellent especially. Once you get used to the system, it's pretty easy. As daggy as it sounds, take a library tour straight away or you won't get it. Sydney is awesome for that mix of the social and academic.
This university is very close to the shops and close to the city - good location. Easily accessible by public transport (train and bus). Uni facilities were ok. Better in the newer buildings. Accomodation on campus appeared to be a bit expensive. It was cheaper to rent off campus and it is possible to find part time work.

Pros
Excellent lecturers and tutors, this uni is situated in very good area, easily accessible transport, alot of courses to offer.

Cons
Expensive, confusing library system, you need to put alot of time learning in home, the building looks like a prison.

Harvard University

Harvard University is a private Ivy League research college in Cambridge, Massachusetts, built in 1636. Its history, impact and riches have made it a standout amongst the most prestigious colleges in the world.
The University is composed into eleven different scholastic units—ten resources and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study—with grounds all through the Boston metropolitan area: its 209-section of land (85 ha) primary grounds is focused on Harvard Yard in Cambridge, pretty nearly 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Boston; the business college and games offices, including Harvard Stadium, are situated over the Charles River in the Allston neighborhood of Boston and the restorative, dental, and general wellbeing schools are in the Longwood Medical Area. Harvard has the biggest budgetary blessing of any scholarly establishment on the planet, remaining at over $35 billion.

Harvard is a huge, residential exploration university. The ostensible expense of participation is high, yet the University's substantial enrichment permits it to offer liberal money related help packages. It works a few expressions, social, and logical galleries, close by the Harvard Library, which is the world's biggest scholarly and private library framework, embodying 79 individual libraries with more than 18 million volumes.
The campus is gorgeous, there are colorful chairs for students and visitors to sit on. There is beautiful church/chapel nearby. The grass is nicely manicured, there are usually tours given by Harvard students to what looks like parents of to-be students or tourists. I haven't had too much interaction with the students.

Pros
According to most people it is the best university in the world. Highest level of education, you can be sure about finding job after finishing this unviersity, you can meet some of the greatest and famous scientists and even have them teach you.

Cons
If you arent genius you will probably get rejected, high living costs.

University of Auckland

University of Auckland is the largest and leading university in the country New Zeland, and is ranked in top 100 worldwide universities. Established in 1883 as a constituent college of the University of New Zealand, the college is made from eight faculties over six campuses, and has over 41 thousands students.
The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across its nine faculties – arts, business, creative arts and industries, education, engineering, law, medical & health sciences, science and theology.

Whether you're going for an education or to make some fun, The University of Auckland is excellent. The lifestyle of this university is very different to other campuses, because it's not really a campus. There are so many people here it can seem quite daunting, but it also makes it very easy to keep to yourself, if that's what you want to do. There is many really excellent lecturers but there are some you would rather want to avoid.
The distance between classes can be frustrating. Sometimes it can feel like going from one side of the city to the other. The quad back is always filled with people and things going on; there were always markets, rallies, performances, the works. The Thursday Markets are great and you will probably spend lots of money on records and little badges, trying to be cool.

Pros

Auckland university is NZ's top university and it is a great place to work if you are interested in academic research. There are a lot of resources available and many knowledgeable professors to learn from.

Cons
The fragmentation between different buildings can be quite annoying. Walking from the Engineering building to the Business building requires crossing heavy traffic etc; Parking is expensive and Auckland's public transport system can make the commute to University quite tedious.

It likewise served as the most elevated organization for training in China toward the start of its founding. By 1920, it had turned into an inside for dynamic thought. Nearby Tsinghua University, Peking University has reliably positioned as the top higher learning organization in territory China. .

This university is particularly known for its traditional architecture of its campus buildings. However, that is all you can see and experience - walking around a lake and seeing the architecture. Unfortunetely as a visitor you cant go inside some of the buildings, such as the Main Library, to see what student life is really like. The lake is a nice and huge, situated in the middle of the campus with some traditional Chinese buildings around. It is very peaceful because of traffic restrictions inside the campus, which is a respite from the chaos on the streets. It's not in the very centre of the city, but very prestigious and famous, not only in China but worldwide. There is so much non-chinese students. Very interesting place to see.

Pros
The Chinese language course is phenomenal, most prestigious university in china, very good quality of education especially science, more foreign students then you think.

Cons
Extremely long line (waiting time: 30 minutes) to get into the college grounds and other restrictions, alot of students - halls are always full, its easy to get lost there.

It is perceived as the most seasoned college in continous operation, considering that it was the first to utilize the term universitas for the enterprises of understudies and masters which came to characterize the foundation.

Due to the fact that English not is very useful in Italy, its is great oppertunity to learn the local language even faster. Even though it can be difficult in the beginning, the experience of social obstacles and not knowing a language is very important. Furthermore you can be supported and well understood by native speakers and staff at the university that shows great understandning.

Orgnaization is pretty well done; courses are crowded, exams can last up to three days if many students register for the same date; oldest european university with corresponding atmosphere and prestige; very good learning environment and many recreations and socializing opportunities; very satisfies with all aspects of student and academic life.

Pros
Bologna University has high standards, excellent studying possibilities and professors. There are a lot of Erasmus students in Bologna University so professors and students are used with having foreign students around (they are helpfull and considerate).

Cons
If you want more authentic experience and to mingle more with locals, Bologna isn't always the best place because you have to work hard not to pump into other foreign students all the time. Also you have to keep in mind that it is quite hard to find a living space in Bologna (especially for Erasmus students) and it costs a lot to live there.
